Do I need a care plan?

Strictly no — but practically, yes. Every site we've taken over after a major break, hack or rebuild was running without ongoing care. The cleanup is always more expensive than years of care fees would have been. If your website is generating leads, sales or operational value, treat it as a business asset that needs care.

Question 2

What's actually included in 'managed hosting'?

Accepted Answer

Enterprise-grade infrastructure (Vercel for Next.js sites, managed WordPress hosting for WP, managed e-commerce hosting for Shopify/WooCommerce), automatic SSL renewal, CDN distribution, server monitoring, and infrastructure-level security. You don't pay for hosting separately on any care plan.

What's the difference between Essential and Growth?

Accepted Answer

Essential covers the technical foundation — hosting, security updates, backups, uptime monitoring, monthly health reports, and 30 minutes of edits per month. Growth adds priority WhatsApp support, SEO health monitoring, quarterly strategy calls, and increases edits to 2 hours per month. Growth is for sites where the business actively engages with the site — adding content, running promotions, iterating on messaging.

When should I choose Pro?

Accepted Answer

Pro is for revenue-critical sites — e-commerce stores, lead-generation sites where downtime costs real money, or sites with complex integrations that need expert support. Pro adds e-commerce support, monthly strategy calls, 4-hour response SLA, and 3 hours of edits plus emergency fixes. If your site directly generates revenue and you can quantify the cost of an hour of downtime, Pro pays for itself.

Can I switch tiers later?

Accepted Answer

Yes — month-to-month with no lock-in. Most clients start with Essential and upgrade to Growth or Pro as their site grows. You can downgrade too if your needs change, with no penalty.

Question 6

What happens if I don't take a care plan?

Accepted Answer

Your site goes live and you're on your own. You'll need separate hosting (R150–R500/month for adequate options), and you'll need to handle security updates, backups, monitoring and any future fixes yourself or pay hourly for ad-hoc help. We've taken on emergency rebuilds for clients who skipped care plans and got hacked, lost backups, or had their hosting expire — the cleanup costs more than years of care fees.

Can you handle a site that's already been built by someone else?

Accepted Answer

Yes — we take on care for existing sites regularly. We do a free 30-minute audit first to understand the technical state, recommend the right tier, and migrate to managed hosting. There's a once-off setup fee depending on the existing site's complexity.
